The Wedding Guayabera: A Groom and Groomsmen Guide
For a beach or destination wedding, a linen guayabera does what a suit cannot: it reads formal, photographs cleanly and survives heat. The decisions that matter are fabric, colour and timing.
Fabric: choose 100% linen for the groom
The groom should wear 100% linen. It holds a sharper collar, breathes better under sun and reads richer in photographs than a blend.
For a larger party, a linen blend keeps the budget in range while matching the tone closely — a common structure is 100% linen for the groom and father, blend for the groomsmen.
Colour and sleeve
White is the standard for the groom. Soft sand, celeste and light grey work well for groomsmen and stay coherent in photos without competing with the bride's palette.
Long sleeve for the ceremony, short sleeve for the reception if the couple wants a second look. Both are cut from the same pattern, so the group stays visually consistent.
Sizing a whole group
Sizes run S to 4XL, big and tall included, so a full party can be dressed from one line. For anyone between sizes — or with a chest and waist that do not match a standard grade — send measurements and we cut to them at no extra cost.
The practical method: collect chest, waist, shoulder and sleeve length for each person in one message. We confirm the grade for each and flag anyone who should go made to measure.
Timing your order
Made-to-measure pieces take 3 to 5 working days in the atelier before shipping, plus transit. For a wedding, order at least four weeks out so there is room for a fitting adjustment.
If the party is spread across countries, we ship to each address individually rather than to one hub — it removes a redistribution step close to the date.
