Guayaberas for Groomsmen: How to Dress the Whole Party
A wedding party in linen guayaberas photographs better than a party in jackets when the ceremony is warm — but only if the group is coordinated deliberately. Here is how we dress a full party at the atelier.
Separate the groom from the party
The groom should read differently without wearing a different garment. The cleanest way: groom in 100% linen white, long sleeve, with the more structured collar; groomsmen in the same white in a linen blend, or in one soft neutral — sand, celeste, gray.
Avoid dressing the groom in a colour and the party in white. In photographs the eye goes to the brightest shirt, and that should be the groom.
Choose one colour family, not one colour
Linen takes light differently in every dye lot, so eight shirts in the same colour rarely look identical outdoors. A single neutral family — sand through soft beige, or celeste through blue — reads intentional and photographs consistently.
For a beach or garden ceremony, keep tones light. For an evening reception, black or terra linen holds up under warm lighting.
Sizing a group from S to 4XL
Every piece in the collection runs S to 4XL in the same cut, so a party with very different builds still wears the same proportions of pocket, pleat and hem.
Collect chest, waist, shoulder and sleeve for each member. Anyone whose chest and waist sit two sizes apart should be cut to measure — that is the man who otherwise looks boxy in every photo.
Ordering timeline
Made-to-measure pieces take 3 to 5 working days in the atelier before shipping, plus transit. For a group order we recommend confirming measurements at least four weeks before the ceremony, so there is room for one fitting adjustment.
Order one shirt first if you have never worn our cut. It costs a few days and removes all the risk from the group order.
Small details that matter in photos
Long sleeve for the ceremony, short sleeve for the reception if the party wants to change. Press the pleats before the day — linen creases, and creases photograph as shadows. And keep the shirts untucked: the guayabera is cut to be worn out, and tucking it flattens the whole silhouette.
